The water is being rendered transparent . So as result we can see the sea floor . This is the reason for the improper water rendering

Are you using the latest version of the graphics drivers for your computer?

Yes I double checked drivers are up to date .

Hmm, can you attach %appdata%\0ad\logs\system_info.txt to this ticket? I can't think of anything off hand that would cause this, but I do recall some water rendering changes, so maybe that info will help us troubleshoot.

Thank you for replying I have added the file that you require . please note both alpha 5 and alpha 6 work flawlessly .I don't know why alpha 7 causes the water to become transparent . Note :- problem only occurs when reflections are on when reflections are off it behave like alpha 5 and 6 without any defect . Best of luck solving the problem and god speed .

Cc'ing Philip since he can test Intel HD graphics and see if this is reproducible.

[9814] was the last change to water rendering, right after Alpha 6 was released. Unfortunately that doesn't narrow it down much.

I get similar-looking errors with fancy water, with latest SVN and HD Graphics 3000 and same drivers (8.15.10.2509). Haven't tried debugging it yet.

Same errors with 8.15.10.2302 drivers on 32-bit Win7 with GMA 4500MHD.

Milestone: BacklogAlpha 10

I feel that in the near future almost every P.C will have Intel hd graphics which is more than capable of playing rts games . It would be impossible to play 0ad on any one of the p.c's without a graphics card due to this error . I realize that maybe there aren't enough developers with enough free time to work on this problem . But the sooner this error gets corrected the better . The longer the problem persists more and more people won't be able to play 0ad .

Milestone: Alpha 10Backlog

Please don't change milestones. It's one thing if you've worked on it and provided a patch, but even then it's best to let the milestone change be done by a team member with a greater knowledge of the overall development. It won't get done for the next release just because it's been set to that milestone, the deciding factor is if someone with enough knowledge about the matter has time to work on it.

That said, there has been some changes to the way graphics code is handled in general that could hypothetically have fixed this, have you tried the SVN version in the last couple of weeks?

Alpha 10 jhelum continues demonstrate the same problem .

Resolution: fixed
Status: newclosed

ac892006, there have been big changes to water rendering in Alpha 12. I'm going to close this issue as resolved because no one can reproduce this issue anymore. If you get this issue after Alpha 12 is released, please reopen this ticket and we'll go from there.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
