Description

  • sandbox: AI has a gathering rate factor of 0.33, does not trade/barter and does not attack
  • very easy: AI has a gathering rate factor of 0.33, does not trade/barter and does not rush
  • easy: AI has a gathering rate factor of 0.66, does not trade/barter and does not rush
  • medium: AI has a gathering rate factor of 1
  • hard: AI has a gathering rate factor of 1.33
  • very hard: AI has a gathering rate factor of 1.66
  • nightmare: AI has a gathering rate factor of 2

Honestly, I can imagine much more ways to make an AI provide a night mare to the player than flooding with units or stockpiling resources. For example it can attack on 10 different fronts at the same time, making the player feel heavily under equipped with one mouse only.

The proposal is far to restrictive and should consider/provide a broader range of difficulty criteria.

While I would agree that such a "nightmare" level is not the best approach and that we should rather try and improve the ai strategies, you should not close such tickets that you have not opened. In addition, this ticket is also about adding a very easy level, which I think is legitimate as there was some demand from beginners in the forum.

The system closed it, I only set to needsinfo. And my concern is not about adding new descriptive levels but the restrictive approach.

Closing this ticket now that the very easy is in. Harder levels should rather be implemented by improving the ai.

Thanks for adding very easy.

The ai constantly improving, see http://trac.wildfiregames.com/changeset/15989 So please add nightmare mode (it is okay to rename it ;)).

Why: instead of choosing two or more ai, you can choose one nightmare ai. It could help to prevent slowing the game regarding pathfinder in the late game due to many units.

Can you also change the level of income to:

Sandbox: 0.33 (instead of 0.50) Very easy: 0.33 (instead of 0.50)

...because the intervall of each level still increasing by 0.33 (0.33, 0.66, 1, 1.33, 1.66, 2) and it should be VERY EASY. It is to slow at the beginning, you can change the game speed instead.
