Is this common: crashes every time you load up the game for the first time?

Description

Basically, the game crashes whenever i try to start a game. This has gone on since i first downloaded it on an old computer, but i thought that would change with this new one. But no, there was no difference. I can't remember the old problems because they were problems 2 years ago; but for this time, i do have the .txt and .dmp for this stuff, because i was still a newbie at the whole "i have to configure a computer with code and stuff my brain cant handle" thing. I just really want to know how to fix this and play 0 a.d. for the first time.

Hello and thanks for the report.

I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties to run the game. Looking at the crashlog.dmp you provided I'd say you have four options

  • In the game options disable GLSL and postprocessing.
  • Update your Intel HD Graphics drivers (Sometimes they are not installed correctly)
  • Help us debug the bug for the next release (This is a relatively common bug, but none of us devs are able to reproduce it)
  • Buy a computer with either an AMD or an Nvidia dedicated card, or at least an I5.
