Description
A nice additional feature would be to increase the normal zoom level a little. There are some detailed animations users might find interesting to have a closer look at e.g. bolt shooters or catapults.
It is currently possible to zoom in closer with Alt
+ D
and toggle the "Restrict camera” option, but many users may not be aware that this developer overlay exists and it is not accessible in multiplayer games.

Stan
pointed out that you can zoom in a little closer by changing the default configuration. The name for increasing the zoom is mysteriously called zoom.min
, and decreasing the zoom is zoom.max
.
Since [12455], the speed of scrolling, rotating and zooming can already be adjusted via hotkeys. It seems one just needs to add an additional hotkey to increase/ decrease the zoom.

I think it shouldn't be the reason to add the feature to the game. Because it might lead to a new art that's more detailed (and more expensive) to fit the new zoom instead of increasing the overall quality.
