#6597 new defect

Mouse pointer not same as mouse position - Fedora 36 KDE

Reported by: yves0ad Owned by:
Priority: Should Have Milestone: Backlog
Component: UI – In-game Keywords:
Cc: yves0ad Patch: 25860

Description

On a non wayland config, mouse pointer is hovering 20-30 pixels above focus, this makes it difficult to click a button as you have to guess actual position pointing somewhere above. Switching to windows mode instead of full screen resolves the issue. BTW, wayland is no option as there are issues with accented characters input in wayland. For some reason, it first appeared in one user account on my system, and it did not affect the other accounts. Now the issue is present in 2 different accounts on the same system.

Milestone: Alpha 26Alpha 27

Maybe the tips here could help ? https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/FAQ#Platform-Specific

You can also try hidpi=true.

Maybe you have some sort of scaling on those new machines?

The same trouble with the alpha 26 on Arch Linux with Xorg and wayland.

Could you attach logs (system_info.txt, userreport_hwdetect.txt, mainlog.html, interestinglog.html)? You might find paths to them here: GameDataPaths.

Thanks for the logs!

there are issues with accented characters input in wayland

What are the issues?

Does the cursor bug happen for other games?

I might suggest to try disable borderless fullscreen. You need to add borderless.fullscreen = false line to your user.cfg file.

Adding borderless.fullscreen = false line to user.cfg file resolved the issue. Thanks.
