If you then select your old units, they show inconsistent and incomplete construction options (e.g. you may see the grayed-out option to build a palisade, and no other options).

If you right click on the option to build the palisade, one or more warnings will appear, indicating ""Unrecognized phase (phase_village)"" (!TemplateParser.js:352).
