In 15932:

Allow translating some strings in the mod selector. Fixes #2919.
Also change column size so that the gd translation fits. (Verified with long strings)

Milestone: BacklogAlpha 18

"game" comes from the mod.json (as does the mod name) and none of those are translated currently. I'm also not sure how to best translate them (including all translations in the mod.json is ugly, not including them requires a translation file to have all translations for all possible mods...).

It seems that mod names are a difficult topic - this could be tackled if/when mods themselves are made translatable.

For the categories like "game", is there a finite list of possible mod types that could be collected in a translation file?

Replying to GunChleoc:

No. (Which is only part of the reason why I dislike having those categories at all)

I think categories would be best as a closed set too, but maybe we can wait for later when it's more clear which categories we might get? e.g. Game, Map Pack, Civilization pack, ...

In the meantime, we can live with them not being localizeable.
