Description (last modified by temple)

Unknown Nomad, 5 players, Size large (6 players), seed 6252, results in one player being placed on an island, without any resources on it, so you need to build a dock and a fishing ship to be able to gather resources (by shuttling them with the fishing ship, or building a second dock.

Might be nice if the AI would do something sensible in cases like that though the shuttling itself (one dock, one ship) sounds a bit complicated, even if it'd just resign.

Some of the Unknown Nomad maps could also use some more metal mines IMO.

Often on nomad it happens that units are placed on walls / mountains and can't get down nor up.

For the "islands" type of that map, players should start on a ship, similar to the "Sicilia Nomad" scenario map, as seen here in the alpha 18 trailer: https://youtu.be/Zt5lHABI7MY?t=52s

On this map type there are dozens of tiny islands, but only about 4 islands with a good amount of wood.

Most players start on islands with about 4 to 5 trees. They have to build docks and find the usable islands. It takes pretty long to get the game going, since it costs wood to build fish ships (and you also need to delete a woman in order to have free population capacity).

Gamesetup: It would be nice if the user could specifically select one of the 10 or more map types of "unknown", "unknown land" and "unknown nomad" maps before starting the game (maybe in another ticket). If one could select type, one could add more starting resources when playing the islands map for example.

The "too few metal" part is likely a bug #4294 (missing retries causing the mine placement to abort too early).

nomad mountain

Description: modified (diff)

That's a replay of starting units being split by a mountain, half stuck on top and half below.
