can't connect to multiplayer over VPN

Description

Two pc with 0ad XXIII, one Debian and one ElementaryOS (Ubuntu based), installed from backports repositories. Works well when physically on the same network.

With a VPN we can't connect to the game, even if the VPN seems configured correctly. By this I mean that UDP communication on port 20595 works using netcat.

The client, when connecting, stops on the message "Registering with server" for a while, then it fails, telling me that I should open port 20595.

I attach a packet log of the communication, the game is created on 192.168.1.245 and I try to connect from 192.168.1.7.

Did you forward the port and disable STUN as well?

trac should be used for reporting bugs with the code, but this sounds more like network misconfiguration, because the connectivity works as expected for everyone else (we had some players using a vpn too).

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
