Description
I believe that we should favour inclusiveness and equality by either randomly choosing female/male characters, or making a gender-neutral one, or balance this somehow (as long as there is no sexism, stereotypes, or discrimination against female characters).
I don't think historical accuracy matters here, as a woman can build a fortress or mine for metal, which is probably not accurate either, but can't be a warrior, hero, or hold any powerful position (which is neither accurate historically in certain civilizations - Theodora of Byzantium, Olympias and Eurydice, Cleopatra, etc...).
Bonus points for introducing more genres in the game as a future iteration.

Well, there are enough examples of woman building stuff (see e.g. some siege on Sparta where the woman build defences overnight). And they were also expected to work. One can search the forum (https://wildfiregames.com/forum/) for more information about this topic.
That said, something like slaves would benefit from random gendered units and be historically accurate.

I lean towards closing this ticket, but the idea of multi-gendered citizens/slaves is not bad, IMHO.
There are women champions and women heroes in the game already.
There are not more women soldiers because women in warfare were not prominent in general and there are not enough records if any to add more women champions.
That is not stereotype, that is historical fact.
If you have any historical sources about that, please provide them.
For example there Boudica and Cleopatra in the game already as heroes because there are sources about them and they kind of fit timeframe. So please do your research first.
I don't see where you see female discrimination. They can defend themselves and are important for your economy. They can collect all resources available and can build all structures available. They have less hp because female body is in general less mascular compared to male body.
