Ability to modify Civilization and Team also for "Scenario" map

Description (last modified by fabio)

It would be nice if they could be changed as in the Random maps, at least with maps that have only a Civic center and not other special buildings (Acropolis and Miletus...).

It would also be nice to be able to disable some player.

Finally the default AI should be probably changed to "Demo Bot" rather than Unassigned.

Scenarios are generally meant for the civilization they've been created for, so I see more problems than benefits with this. Also currently scenarios have in a way acted as a substitute for random maps, but as more random maps are created that need will get lower and lower and scenarios will be the specific maps they're meant to be.

Disabling players/changing teams should perhaps be an option though. Most scenarios will probably not warrant it, at least not single player scenarios, and definitely not story-based, but multiplayer definitely sounds like it could be an idea. That should get its own ticket though, as should "New Default AI". :) I'll create the latter right away as that's a quick one, the former requires some more thought though, so unless you've set it up I'll do it after I've cooked + eaten.

Hmm, thinking about it a bit more I don't really see the point for being able to disable players, that would just leave an "empty hole" in maps where they should be. Might make the maps less fair in some cases, and in either case I wouldn't say it's a big issue if the player is there or not. If there is no player (AI or human) set for that player slot its units will just react to nearby units, apart from that it will be as if the player hadn't been there. Sure, that might be annoying in some cases, but overall I don't think it's that big an issue. In most cases one shouldn't want to disable players, in many it should not be possible even if the possibility exists etc. If nothing else it's not like it's hard to edit the map file in Atlas to remove a player completely and redistribute the other players etc.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
