    v6 v7
1313There exist numerous systems to transcribe Greek; one is not intrinsically better than any other. However, consistency matters, so please stick to the system listed below:
    1414* consonants:
    15   * β, π, φ → b, p, ph
    16   * γ, κ, χ → g, k, kh
     15  * β, π, φ, ψ → b, p, ph, ps
     16  * γ, κ, χ, ξ → g, k, kh, ks
    1717  * δ, τ, θ → d, t, th
    18   * σ/ς, ζ, ξ, ψ → s, z, x, ps
     18  * σ/ϲ/ς, ζ → s, z
    1919  * λ, μ, ν → l, m, n
    2020  * ρ → r, but initial ῥ → rh

2929Other things to take care of:
3030* accents are meaningful, therefore write the correct ones (which can change depending on position), differentiate between e.g. α, ά, ᾶ, ὰ.
31 * names are in the nominative; also check the number (singular, dual, plural) and gender (masculine, feminine, neuter); adjectives should match the nouns
31* names are in the nominative; genitive is the case for combining nouns; also check the number (singular, dual, plural) and gender (masculine, feminine, neuter); adjectives should match the nouns they belong to
    3232
    3333== Latin

    3939* differentiate between u and v
4040* do not differentiate between i and j, both are written i
41 * names are in the nominative; also, adjectives should have the same gender as their nouns
41* names are in the nominative; genitive is the case for combining nouns; also check the number (singular, plural) and gender (masculine, feminine, neuter); adjectives should match the nouns they belong to
4242* sometimes words are plural only, e.g. ''insidiae'' “ambush”; check the whole string has the proper number
    4343

    5151When writing Persian, ensure:
52* check your strings are in the nominative
53* indicate vowel length (ā as opposed to a)
    5254* use x, not kh
    5355* use š, not sh
    5456* use ç, not ch
    5557* use th, not θ
56 * indicate vowel length (ā as opposed to a)
57 * check your strings are in the nominative
    5858E.g. ''Artaxšaçā'' (Artaxerxes), not ''Artakhshacha''.
