Some units refuse to gather food from animals

When I play egyptians, sometimes camels refuse to gather food from sheep. They go to the sheep, kill it, and then stay idle next to it, incapable of grabbing the food.
This is not automatic, at the beginning of the game camels have no problem gathering food from the chicken and the first sheep. After a few minutes of gaming I see the first camels staying idle next to dead sheep, while other camels can gather without problem.
I first thought it was an obstruction problem, because when a camel gathers meat, he usually goes next to the sheep to kill it, and then move forward and gathers the meat while he's slightly over the corpse, and idle camels seem not to be able to go over the corpse to gather from it (because of uneven terrain or some obscure reason). But this happens for some units and not for others, it can happen on even or uneven ground, so I don't know.
I see this happening quite often with camels, I've seen it happening with cavalry settlers too, but this was a long time ago and I haven't reproduced it. (update: it happens with every animal, not just sheep, see : http://pix.toile-libre.org/upload/original/1410167890.png )

The problem arised when the unit was promoted. The obstruction was increased from 1 to 2.5 (why so much ?) while the gathering range was 2. In the fix, I've changed the obstruction of the promoted unit to 1.6 and increased its range gathering to 3 (quite arbitrarily).
Could you provide a commands.txt for a game where you experienced that? Thanks is advance :)
