Shadow flickering with GLSL

Description
I experience shadow flickering with GLSL enabled on my integrated Intel graphics.
This is really impossible to play with it (my head hurts after five minutes!), so it should be fixed.
In the meantime, this is fixed by using a more decent graphics card or disabling GLSL in the settings.
