Authentication Failed: Password too long/complex?

I was able to register my account and log in once. I closed the game and restarted it later. When trying to log in to "Game Lobby" the second time, I keep getting this "authentication failed" error.

My password is 16 characters long and contains a "^" and a "$". Could these characters be causing the problem?

I cannot seem to find information on how to change/reset my password either. I have tried registering my username again, in case there was some issue and it didn't actually get created properly the first time, but that doesn't seem to work either.

Are you sure your password is the same one you used to register? I get this message too, but only when I have a typo in my password (or username).
