#1458 closed enhancement (wontfix)

Atlas - no min/max zoom limits for the camera

Description

Under Atlas, you can zoom too much and penetrate the ground with you noise.

A maximum limit of zoom should be added. I suggest to let zoom enough to see a soldier in detail.

Maybe a minimal limit should be set too, but no idea of what it should be. I think it could be dynamic and related to the size of the map (all the map should be visible with the min zoom).

Hmm, not sure there's a need to limit things in Atlas. There will always be people who find some use for zooming in/out far, and there isn't much reason that speaks for a limit. After all, you can zoom out/in again if you zoom too far in either direction. Also, if you do end up in a view where you don't know what to do, you can always use the "Reset Camera" option, in the Misc Hacks menu. (That is far more likely when rotating though, but still I thought I should mention it.)

I'm closing this ticket, but if enough people find it an issue it can easily be reopened :)

You can also reset the camera in Atlas with the C key. There are modifier keys (Ctrl, Alt, Shift) which used in combination allow finer and coarser zooming.
