Nova WordPress Theme

Nova is a custom theme for WordPress that was developed by Wildfire Games. It is currently still in development.

Nova features three levels or tiers of navigation. The first tier is the global menu which is seen across the entire WFG network (emphasis on "global"). The second tier is the main navigation placed underneath the header; it is a fully function drop down menu and also features a search box. The last tier of navigation happens to be a series of menus placed in the fat footer. This last tier acts as a site map, giving users access to any page, whenever they should need it.

Nova's footer is composed of two parts: the fat, and the skinny. The fat part holds a series of menus (tier three navigation), along with several social connectivity options and some tidbits of info.

Development History

The development of the Nova theme started with a prototype developed by Mythos Ruler. From there, it was developed by Geek377, gerbilOFdoom, and bstempi, with artwork by Mythos Ruler and contributions from k776. Geek377 joined the team as a designer in late November 2011; however, development really kicked off with the return of bstempi, in December 2011, who meticulously evaluated different content management systems, and selected WordPress as the new platform. gerbilOFdoom joined the team as a web developer in December 2011, and thus the development team was created.
